Radiation and Heavy Metals protocols – prevention and exposure

The last age of the world, legend has it, ended in inundation by water. Hence “the flood,” Noah’s Ark, Atlantis, Mu, and many other tales and myths. Some say this age of the world will end in fire. What evidence is there of this? What are the aspects of fire? I see radiation, EMF’s, electricity, lights, HAARP, global warming, as possibilities here. I feel we are being “cooked” and health protocols that used to work simply will not now. We live in an age where our solar system is in a place in the that some say “gives us more available energy.” All bets are off. What used to work, does not anymore. Anyone notice the rising cancer, illness and strange illness and diseases? Along with weird gut and digestive issues no one can figure out? I have seen a two-to-three fold rise in strange cases coming to me over the past 2 years. Cases that no one can figure out.

In this essay, my main point is to bring awareness to some areas we may not ever have thought about. I will bring in some other viewpoints and things to do besides my own.

I have been accumulating knowledge in this area over many years, based on the A-bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which I studied in Macrobiotic training.  Radiation exposure is a normal part of our lives these days.  We get exposed from microwaves, cell phones, Wi-Fi signals, television, and much much  more.  The massive HAARP/ELF devices and other equipment also cause much distorted chi in the body must be addressed also.

Radiation can causes DNA damage, cancer, cell mutations, and more.  But we need to know is how we eat, and how we live are more important than any miracle cure, like heavy dosing of potassium iodide, which can make some people very sick and even cause harm.

Then there is the matter of heavy metal exposure, coming from GeoEngineered clouds containing aluminum, barium, and many other heavy metals too many to list. This is a newer development, going on since the 70’s on some level but increasing rapidly since the late 90’s.

Other main routes of heavy metal exposure comes from tap water, car exhaust, cosmetics and skin care products, vaccines, flu shots, tooth fillings, metal pins or braces put anywhere inside the body, and more.

See diagram for how the cell gets its waste out, to final excretion. This process must proceed smoothly, or congestion/stagnation/constraint can result.

There are some easy and safe ways to protect ourselves and even thrive.  Go to this link to see foods (link to good foods) high in iodine, seaweeds the best, choose foods rich in vitamin P (bioflavanoids – bilberry is a good one, and blueberry also), minerals, and foods rich in vitamin A, D, and E also.  My list of mandatory foods is chlorella, cilantro, miso (good quality stuff from South River Miso or Miso Master), garlic, eleuthero, bentonite clays if exposure cannot be avoided (do not take by itself, always mix in water and add at least psyllium to it, and maybe more – see me), raw greens, sprouts, reishi and shiitake mushrooms, liver supportive foods like burdock root, raw beets, celery root, milk thistle or artichoke leaf, schisandra berry, turmeric, aloe vera, triphala, and things specific to you.  I work with people about this.

Cleansing the liver, intestines, and avoiding highly reactive foods like simple sugars, coffee, alcohol, most OTC and prescription drugs, cigarettes, polyunsaturated oils like soy and canola, highly refined oils, all convenience foods, nightshades, and excessive starchy foods.  Excessive protein needs to be avoided also.  Think of things we can drop out, rather than add a miracle “maybe.”  It is time to be more impeccable in our food choices, lifestyle and self-care also.  Do not assume you eat healthy enough.  Make sure!  Question what you do, and allow more free time to rest and just enjoy living.  Stress is a huge immune downer.  Lift yourself up, lift others, and be lifted, supported.

Try These Natural Remedies to Protect Your Body From Radiation

Since the 2011 Fukushima earthquake, tsunami and meltdown, 20 trillion to 40 trillion becquerels of radioactive tritium have leaked into the Pacific Ocean, plus a huge amount of cesium, as well as strontium—which replaces calcium in bones and stays in the bodies of humans and sea life. Over 300 tons of radioactive water are still leaking into the sea each day. And if that wasn’t enough, reactor 4 is severely damaged and sinkingthe removal of the spent fuel rods will be one of the most urgent and dangerous tasks ever undertaken in the history of nuclear energy. A rodent chewed through the wiring recently, causing a power outage which came close to triggering an unstoppable nuclear chain reaction.

Those living downwind, especially on the west coast of North America, may have significant reason to be aware and take precautions.

Not only did the Vancouver Sun report that the seaweed in British Columbia has radiation levels four times the amount considered safe, but cow’s milk samples taken from across the US after the Fukushima incident have shown radiation levels three times higher than EPA maximums.

But don’t buy your ticket to Sydney just yet—there’s hope. Avoiding certain foods and eating more of others may help you protect yourself and your family from possible damage from radiation. Here’s a partial list of tips to help you navigate these waters:

TEPCO (Tokyo Electric Power Co) finally admitted in July this year that radioactive water has been leaking from the plant since the accident and new studies have also shown that it will likely reach the U.S. coastal waters by the beginning of 2014 and peak in 2016. Radioactive elements have already been detected in the food chain in Japan and radioactive rain has been recorded in California.


“Hazardous radioactive elements being released in the sea and air around Fukushima accumulate at each step of various food chains (for example, into algae, crustaceans, small fish, bigger fish, then humans; or soil, grass, cow’s meat and milk, then humans). Entering the body, these elements – called internal emitters – migrate to specific organs such as the thyroid, liver, bone, and brain, continuously irradiating small volumes of cells with high doses of alpha, beta and/or gamma radiation, and over many years often induce cancer”. Best Foods To Naturally Detox Radiation:

  1. Spirulina and Chlorella – have both been shown to reduce significantly or even remove radioactive materials in people who were contaminated by the Chernobyl fallout. However, this blue-green algae superfood should probably not be sourced from Japan or nearby waters
  2. Seaweed / Kelp – (and green and black teas for that matter) have been shown to neutralize radioactive isotopes in the body, and contain a high amount of protective natural iodine that would definitely protect the thyroid. Many people are claiming that dulse from Ireland is the safest. The jury is still out on California coastal seaweed, with some people even buying Geiger counters to test everything they consume. Geiger counters are rather blunt tools though, and do not tell you the type of isotope involved. I personally would not eat seaweed from the west coast of North America or Japan, but that’s an individual decision.
  3. Black / Green Tea / PuEhr
  4. Garlic and Onion family
  5. Wheat Grass
  6. Apples (and other fruits rich in pectin)
  7. Lemons
  8. Parsley
  9. Beets
  10. Sauerkraut
  11. Ginger

  14. Kale (and other leafy greens) + Broccoli – The entire cabbage family is high in caffeic acid, which may protect peripheral blood lymphocytes against gamma radiation induced cellular damage. This would include broccoli, cauliflower, arugula, bok choy, radishes, mustard greens and the like.

  16. Citrus pectin or apple pectin. In supplement form, these have been shown to bind to and remove radioactive materials such as Cesium-137 from the body..
  17. Foods high in carotenes, (vitamin C and E), are natural protectors against radiation induced carcinogenesis. This includes carrots, sweet potatoes, beets, winter squash, kale, collard greens, chard and spinach. (Beta-carotene, however, may actually promote cancer if taken in isolate/supplement form))
  18. Herbs high in selenium may protect against DNA damage. These include nettles, burdock root, catnip and ginseng
  19. Members of the legume family, especially lentils, astragalus and red clover, may assist with DNA repair.
  20. Miso soup has been shown to be very protective as it contains dipicolinic acid and may discharge radiation from the body. Rosemary, as well, helps rid the brain of free radicals.
  21. Reishi mushrooms, known in traditional Chinese Medicine as Ling Zhi, have also been noted to increase the white blood cells and increase the overall immune protection of the body, even combating cancer. (Studies on reishi and cancer are varied.) The recommended method is slicing the dried mushroom and simmering for three hours, drinking the concentrated tea.
  22. Cilantro removes heavy metals from the body (especially when combined with chlorella),  and milk thistle is another herb that supports the liver in removing toxins.
  23. Bentonite clay has been touted as doing the same through binding and removing the foreign substances.

  25. Fulvic Acid and Fulvic acid rich herbs/foods/supplements – Shilajit comes to the fore

So despite radiation worries, there are some things you can load up on to lessen your toxic intake. In the meantime, coconut water is high in potassium, and can make you a lot more relaxed while waiting for the next shoe to drop. Peace.


The Swedish Government monitored the radiation level of foods following the Chernobyl disaster. They found that most animal based foods including meat, dairy, and fish had higher levels of radioactive substances than fruits, vegetables, grains, and potatoes. Eating plant based foods can reduce exposure to radioactive substances by avoiding concentrations of these substances in animal fat and tissues. A plant centered diet in the midst of radiation exposure provides lower levels of radioactive substances as well as fiber, antioxidants, and phytochemicals that have the potential to reduce cancer rates associated with radiation exposure.

Editors note – we need the sulfur containing amino acids in these foods and protein to keep our tissues healthy. These groups making these newsletters have a vegetarian agenda, and this is another excuse to push their ideology. We simply do not know enough about the radiation and how our own attitudes and diet affect our cell and tissue health. I have not heard definitive statements that fat from animals is contaminated by radiation. I personally continue to feel better eating protein from animals and vegetables. And so do most of my clients.

Sulfur-containing antioxidants found in cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, kale, and cabbage, have been found to provide protection against radiation exposure through their detoxifying properties.

Pectin in fruits has also been shown to reduce levels of the radioactive substance Cs-137. Plant based foods provide protection against free radical damage and they can reduce the absorption of radioactive substances.

A study published in Russia reviewed the protective nature of dietary fiber against radiation. Researchers used concentrates of dietary fiber from lemon peel and beet root among other plants and found that the fiber did have radio-protective properties. The authors concluded that concentrated dietary fiber can be used in human nutrition to accelerate the elimination of nuclides or radioactive elements.

Whether or not the Fukushima plant meltdown the radioactive levels escalate or not, the simple change to a strong plant diet can provide significant protection and health benefits for you and your family. Consuming a broad spectrum of fruits and vegetables can provide powerful protection against the ravaging effects of radiation exposure.

Update October 2013

The issue is not going away and may be worse than we think.  A colleague uses D-Toxol and says it works wonders for excretion.  In alchemy, radiation increases mutagenic activity, so the goal is to reduce exposure AND keep it moving out as fast as possible.  All the while keeping a good attitude as our attitude DOES affect DNA – see Bruce Lipton’s work in Epigenetics.  And Epigenetics in general.  This is inner alchemy.

Would like to add to all of below that something called Methylation, which prevents DNA damage, is a good thing to think about.  Nutrients that help this detox pathway are B-vitamins, and I suggest B-vitamins from food.  See the page about Rich Sources of Food Nutrients on this website.  I also use Standard Process Inc., Garden of Life, and Premier Research Labs for their concentrates.
+++Other notes – please keep sugars to a minimum, alcohol, caffeine too as these generate free radicals, and can contribute to damage from nuclear waste.

“If there is no clear evidence of current danger, we should do now only what is safe, inexpensive and otherwise healthy.   This includes our Nourishing Traditions/GAPS diet, with liberal amounts of good fats, broth, lacto-fermented vegetables and greens.   Special foods that have been shown to counteract radiation sickness include naturally fermented miso, beets, kombucha and sea vegetables, such as kombu.  Fermented cod liver oil at the usual dose of ½ teaspoon or 2 capsules is best.   Next, detoxifying baths with a cup of Epsom salts every couple days is an inexpensive aid to boosting magnesium levels, relaxing muscles, and aiding the elimination channels.

As for medicines, at this point I recommend the safest and most proven aids in radiation exposure, which are vitamin C in the form of the highly absorbable liposomal C; the herb eleutherococcus, otherwise known as Siberian ginseng; and a seaweed called modifilan, a brown seaweed that is rich in a chemical called fucoidan, which studies have shown has great promise in combating radiation exposure.  This seaweed has liberal amounts of iodine, so the more toxic potassium iodine need not be taken at this point.   The doses of these medicines are:

+Liposomal C: 1 tsp a day in any liquid,  half that dose for children younger than five
+Eleutherococcus from Mediherb, Pure, Herb Pharm or other vendors:  one tablet twice a day for adults, half that dose for children younger than 5.  For children unable to swallow pills, the tablets can be dissolved in hot water and mixed with any liquid.  For tinctures use as directed on labels and half dose for children.
+Modifilan:   3 capsules twice a day for adults, one capsule twice a day for children younger than 5. It can be mixed with any soft food, like applesauce.”
